Santa Maria Al Bagno, Apulia Italy

Santa Maria al Bagno is a small fishing village on the Gulf of Taranto, on the west coast of the Ionian Sea between Gallipoli and Porto Cesareo. The coastline features unspoilt rocky and sandy beaches. Particularly notable is the neighbouring regional wildlife reserve of Portoselvaggio, a renowned natural park with 400 hectares of pine forest and seven kilometres of clean, high-quality coastline. Portoselvaggio is one of the main green lungs of the Apulia region. Santa Maria al Bagno is about a 45-minute drive from Brindisi, 20 minutes from Lecce, and roughly an hour and a half from Bari. The village has several food shops, restaurants, pubs, bars open 24 hours a day in summer, a pharmacy, post office, estate agents, tourist agencies, barbers, a petrol station, newsagents, and a weekly market every Sunday. Larger supermarkets, shopping centres, and fashion boutiques can be found in nearby towns such as Nardò, Galatone, Gallipoli, and Lecce.
