Martano Italy

Martano is a town and comune of 9,573 inhabitants in the province of Lecce in Apulia, Italy. The main attraction is the medieval castle in the old town centre, largely rebuilt in the 15th century while retaining some features from the previous century. The largest churches are dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and Our Lady of the Rosary. The town also has the tallest menhir in Apulia, the Santu Totaru menhir, at 4.80 metres (15.7 ft), and an ancient Cistercian monastery dedicated to Our Lady of Consolation.
