Savina Spain

La Savina (in Catalan, officially sa Savina) is the first town you come to when you arrive in Formentera. It lies on the northern side of l’Estany des Peix and is home to the port that links Formentera with Ibiza and, at certain times of the year, with Dénia. The Port of La Savina is the smallest port managed by the Port Authority of both the Pityusic Islands and the Balearic Islands. In spite of its size, it is a vital part of daily life on the island, as it is the only point of entry for both passengers and goods. Over a million passengers pass through its quays every year. It is a port with semi-detached quays, a dock serving Formentera’s fishing industry, and two yacht clubs. The Formentera quay is 280 metres long, has several berths for larger vessels, and includes a modern ferry terminal.
