Puerto Maldonado Peru

Puerto Maldonado is the capital of the Madre de Dios region in southeastern Peru. It is also referred to as the entrance to the southern Amazon rainforest. The central Obelisk Tower provides views of the city, along with exhibits on local history. On the bank of the Madre de Dios River, close to the Plaza de Armas, there is a busy ferry dock. Near the city, the Tambopata National Reserve includes savannah lands and primary jungle with a high level of biodiversity.
