Talamanca Beach, thanks to its proximity to the center of Ibiza Town, was one of the most popular beaches in the 1960s and 70s. That’s why there is such a wide variety of beach bars, mixed in with houses and landscaped gardens right at the water’s edge, giving Talamanca a very charming look. Interestingly, around fifteen years ago the beach had even more businesses than it does now, with temporary stalls selling newspapers, trinkets, and more. The atmosphere is very mixed: families, athletes playing a game of beach volleyball, locals taking a quick break from work, and of course residents of the exclusive Marina Botafoch area, who come down for a swim before lunch. The wooden boardwalk that runs the length of the beach is a local favorite for running, walking, or cycling. Despite being so close to central Ibiza, it’s a quiet, uncrowded beach with fine sand and iodine‑rich waters that are said to benefit the skin, bones, and circulation – a real luxury. Talamanca offers a wide range of services that make it a great place to sunbathe or swim safely. You can play paddle ball on the sand or try sports like dinghy sailing, paddleboarding, or kayaking. For snorkeling, it’s recommended to explore between the first and second headlands on the left side of the cove, or around Sa Punta, where the water is crystal clear and very clean. The beach has excellent showers and a lifeguard (S.O.S.) service. There is also a beach audio system so blind visitors can enjoy it independently, and adapted access so people with reduced mobility can bathe with assistance, change, and shower. The facilities are fully adapted for this purpose. At the far end of the beach there is a small jetty with a ramp, ideal for those who have a small boat and trailer.
