Puerto Maldonado Peru

Puerto Maldonado is the capital of the Madre de Dios region in southeastern Peru. It's also known as the gateway to the southern Amazon rainforest. The central Obelisk Tower offers views of the city, as well as exhibitions on local history. On the bank of the Madre de Dios River, near the Plaza de Armas, there's a bustling ferry pier. Near the city, the Tambopata National Reserve encompasses savannah lands and primary jungle with great biodiversity.
